Electric mobility, among other things, plays an important role in reducing  greenhouse gas emissions. The increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) is said to be proportial to charging infractures present in a given country. The more charging points are available, the more electric cars there will be in circulation. IPHIGEN is market leader in the development, supply and installation of high-efficiency solar DC charging stations.

High-Efficiency DC Charging Stations

Rapid-charging columns are the right place to go when EV battery needs to be recharged quickly. Rapid-charging columns are mainly used in public car parks and large charging stations and have a high power ratings (50kW - 350kW). Depending on the size of the battery, it takes less than one hour to charge the EV using fast-charging stations, with ultra-fast–charging stations, the time is further reduced to 20 minutes.

High-Efficiency DC Charging Stations

About 60% Electric Vehicule (EV) users in Europe have their own charging stations at home. These charging points often operate on the basis of alternating current (AC), with a power output of between 3.7 kW - 11 kW and rarely 22 kW. Hence it takes several hours to fully charge the battery of an EV. However, to use those stations, the EV needs an integrated on-board charger (OBC). Charging a 100-kWh battery could hence take about 5 hours, depending on the OBC charging power.

High-Efficiency DC Charging Stations

By producing your own electricity supply from solar panels, you will be using less electricity from your utility provider hence save money monthly on bills in the long term. Additionally, power blackout in your home and your carbon footprint will drastically be reduced.

Solar Systems Selection

Three main types of technology mainly available on the solar panels market today. These include monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin film amorphous types.

Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline are two types of solar cells that are produced from a crystalline silicon material. Crystalline solar panels are the common quotes provided by IPHIGEN when considering buying solar panels for your home.

IPHIGEN will assist their Customers selecting the best solar panel types based on their available roofing area and topology, power requirement and final installation cost.

Monocrystalline Panels

  • Material of Construction: Monocrystalline Silicon
  • Efficiency: up to 22% sunlight conversion
  • Best for: limited flat roofing area and low sunlight region
  • Cost: Higher than Polycrystalline Panels

Warranty: Monocrystalline solar panels often have a 5 years limited power IPHIGEN warranty (materials and labour).

Polycrystalline Panels

  • Material of Construction: Polycrystalline Silicon
  • Efficiency: up to 15% sunlight conversion
  • Best for: large flat roofing area and high sunlight region
  • Cost: Higher than Monocrystalline Panels

Warranty: Polycrystalline solar panels often have a 5 years limited power IPHIGEN warranty (materials and labour).

Thin-film Panels

  • Material of Construction: Photo photovoltaic substance (such as Cadmium Telluride, Dye-sensitized solar cell or Copper indium gallium selenide)
  • Efficiency: up to 7 -13% sunlight conversion.
  • Best for: can be made flexible
  • Cost: Low space-efficiency also increase the costs of PV equipment e.g. cables and supporting structures.
  • Warranty: Thin-film solar panels degrade faster compare to silicone base solar panels and have a short time IPHIGEN warranty.
  •
